First National Bank Texas

About First National Bank Texas

First National Bank Texas (FNBT) and First Convenience Bank (FCB), a division of FNBT, continue to thrive across Texas, New Mexico and Arizona.

First National Bank Texas was established in 1901 and is headquartered in Killeen, Texas. In 1997, we established First Convenience Bank to note our Texas statewide presence. In September 2011, FCB expanded into Arizona and in November 2011 into New Mexico. Our branch network is supported by more than 280 branches, 380 Gold Key Network ATMs and employs more than 3,000 banking professionals.

2011 proved to be a monumental year for our company as it marked the first time in our history that we expanded beyond the borders of Texas. We've opened 12 branches in the beautiful desert communities of Roswell, Bernalillo, Las Cruces and Farmington in New Mexico and Goodyear, Mesa, Chandler, Phoenix, Scottsdale and Surprise in Arizona.

We broke ground in new communities across Texas, including one location in the communities of Bay City, Beeville, Bellmead, Crowley, Lockhart, Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Port Arthur, Port Lavaca, Red Oak and Uvalde, while adding five locations in Laredo and four locations in San Antonio.

We added branches in several communities where our presence is established, including one new location in the communities of Baytown, Belton, Floresville, Fort Worth, Granbury, Victoria and Willis. We also opened two new branches in Corpus Christi and El Paso, three in Bryan/College Station and eight new locations in Houston.

Since mid-2011, we have expanded our branch network by 56 locations and are preparing for additional openings in 2012. Check back often for updates on our expansion.

Community Banking Award

Community Banking Award

The American Bankers Association (ABA) recently presented First National Bank Texas (FNBT) with a national Community Bank Award for its outstanding community outreach efforts. FNBT received this honor for its involvement and leadership in the 2011 Greater Killeen/Fort Hood National Lemonade Day celebration.

Established in 2005 to recognize community banks' outstanding charitable achievements, the ABA community bank award selection committee selected ten banks from a field of nearly 200 nominations based upon innovation, creativity and the effectiveness of the bank's approach in making a difference in its community.

FNBT first introduced National Lemonade Day to the local Greater Killeen/Fort Hood area in 2010 in an effort to teach children about financial literacy and entrepreneurship. A year later, the event attracted almost twice the participants, when over 1,490 children registered to compete and market the Best Lemonade in the Greater Killeen and Fort Hood area. Working alongside the children to help them develop business plans, establish budgets and goals, seek investors and to provide quality customer service, FNBT also shared the basics of banking and the importance of community service and philanthropy with the youth. After reimbursing their "investors" (mostly parents), many of the participants donated their profits to a charity of their choice.

"First National Bank Texas is honored to receive this award which represents our personal and professional devotion, passion and leadership in 2011," FNBT President Bobby Hoxworth said. "FNBT and its employees have distinguished themselves for their longstanding commitment of giving back to this community."
